Pakistan purchases 55,000 tons of Ukrainian milling wheat at a price of USD 276/ton on C&F basis.
Grain supply will be carried out in August, Ukrinform reported citing Zerno Online.
“Over recent several years, Pakistan has been wheat net exporter. Buyers of Pakistan wheat were Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, as well as some Middle East and African countries,” the publication reads.
In the current season, the wheat yield in Pakistan does not exceed domestic consumption. Cost of wheat on the domestic market sharply grew and now is much higher against world prices.
Over recent several weeks, Pakistan has actively purchased imported wheat and has already contracted, according to traders’ estimates, no less than 400,000 tons. In early July, 250,000 tons of Black Sea wheat has been purchased.
