European oilseeds complex and EU biodiesel and GMO regulation policy will be presented by Julian McGill, LMC International, at the International Сonference «Black Sea Oil Trade-2013: New Markets. New Strategies».
“The recent shift in EU renewable energy policy towards non-crop based sources of biodiesel have cast doubts on whether the mandates will continue to translate into higher demand for crops.
At the same time, consumer pressure against GMO crops continues segregating much of the vegetable oil food market.
The talk will examine these policy issues and their implications for the oilseeds complex, generally, and the Ukraine, specifically”, – comments Julian McGill.
Dr McGill is an economist based at LMC’s headquarters in Oxford. Since joining LMC, as well as contributing to on-going research, he has worked on projects across all of the main oilseeds. Prior to joining LMC, he completed his PhD in Economic History at the University of Oxford.
