Over 601,200 tons of grain came to the procurement affiliated branches of the PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine in July, which is 38,700 tons (7%) up against the same period of the previous season.
PJSC State Food and Grain Corporation CEO Robert Brovdi has said about this, the company press service informs.
“In addition to raising efficiency of the affiliated branches, the fact that corporation for the first time developed independent and systemic trader activities became a powerful impetus for boosting grain procurement,” Brovdi noted.
According to him, over the first month of the new season, 11 grain storage facilities of the corporation overfulfilled the grain procurement plan, and 20 affiliated branches worked exceeding the previous year indexes.
The corporation representative noted that primarily own grain elevator capacities are loaded. The same concerns the corporation’s Odesa and Mykolaiv port terminals. Their transshipment volumes, thanks to fulfillment of export contracts, made up 184,300 tons as of August 6, 2013. And this is almost fourfold up against indexes of the first month of the previous season.
According to the corporation’s information, production plans for 2013/2014 marketing year envisage 100% loading of available capacities of the corporation’s grain elevators, which currently exceed 3.3 million tons, as well as doubling, against the previous season (from 1.1 million tons to 2.2 million tons), the volumes of transshipment via the corporation’s own port terminals.
