The Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food (SAGARPA) announced that there will be record agricultural production in 2013, exceeding 184.7 million tons.
Production is expected to be 3.6 per cent higher than in 2012 and 16.8 per cent higher than in 2011.
Regarding grain production for the 2013 crop year end, SAGARPA projects it to grow by 2.3 per cent in these crops.
In the period January to July 2013, the SAGARPA reported an estimated production of 112.2 million tons, up 7.1 per cent compared with the same period in 2012.
Estimated production of grains is 14.2 million tons, oil 173 000 tonnes and fodder 26.9 million.
