Consultancy AgRural has reduced the projectio”n Brazil’s soybean area for the 2013/2014 season to 72.4 million acres. Previously, the consultancy had estimated that the country would have a soybean area of 72.7 million acres. Compared to last year, the soybean planting would increased by 5.8 percent, if the latest estimates are confirmed.
“The area was adjusted in Paraná and in the Northeast of Brazil and it does not mean any trend of a lower crop”, reads the survey authored by AgRural. The total yields for the season are foretasted at 88.7 million tons. The soybean planting in Brazil has reached 48 percent last Friday.
