With an important decline of artichokes consumption, the entire industry was mobilized.
More than 70 companies and groups have gathered in an association ‘Alcachofa de Espana’ (Spanish artichoke). With the following objectives : stop the fall in production, stem the artichokes by promotional campaigns, making the consumption of artichokes easier and more attractive to try to double it.
Antonio Galindo was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors. Besides Pedro Herrera (Conservas El Raal), Margarita Lopez (Alcachofa of Vega Baja del Segura), Fernando P. Gomez (Proexport), Joaquin Ortuno (SAT Ole), Enrique Castel-Ruiz (Frutas Castel-Ruiz), Jose A. Guerrero (Hortoventas).
