Kazakhstan collected 17.2 million tons of cereal and bean cultures in 2014.
That crop volume was 5.9% lower than in 2013, according to Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan.
In total, 17,162,200 million tons of cereals and legumes were harvested last year.
Other crops in 2014 mainly seen growth. Gross harvest of oilseeds increased by 3.3%, potatoes – 2%, vegetables – 5.3%, melons – 12.6%.
North Kazakhstan region harvested 26.5% of total volume of cereals and beans, Akmola – 26.2%, Kostanai region – 23.2%. The highest yield of vegetables and potatoes was harvested in Almaty region – 26.9% and 20% respectively.
The grain export potential of Kazakhstan in the current marketing year is 8 million tons. Record grain harvest in the country was in 2011 – almost 27 million tons.
