HGCA Experts have conclude that the fall of EURO is a good sign to the wheat exports in Europe.
Soft wheat exports increased pace and more of the European wheat surplus was shifted as the EURO falls in the last week. 1.1Mt of soft wheat was licenced for export outside of the EU, bringing the cumulative figure to 2.2Mt above this point last year and the third largest volume granted on record. Furthermore, cumulative export licences granted by the EU Commission this season reached 25.5Mt.
The EU also granted licences to export 0.2Mt of barley this week, bringing the season total to 6.9Mt, up from 5.1Mt granted at this point last season.
Ultimately the pace of exports in the next few months will determine the level of EU stocks carried over into next season. In turn, this will influence prices for both the EU and UK in 2015/16.
