The corn harvest in the center-south of Brazil reached 18.6 percent of the total surface, according to data released by consultancy Clarivi. The center-south is the region where by large the commercial crop is planted in the country.
By July of last year, the harvest in that region reached 15.4 percent. Last week, harvest was at 8.4 percent of the surface. The total output in the country is projected at 80.2 million tons. The previous Clarivi forecast was at 77.7 million metric tons.
