Indonesia will seek to import cattle from a wider range of countries, said Indonesia’s Chief Economics Minister Darmin Nasution. This is reduce the cost of beef, which has contributed to keeping inflation high.
“With more suppliers beef prices can be more competitive,” Mr Darmin said during the announcement of a stimulus package. The package is intended to support the rupiah, help contain inflation and prop up sagging growth in Southeast Asia’s largest economy.
